Nature makes some amazing things both big and small. I don’t usually play with spiders. But this tiny one got my attention. Barely bigger than a comma on my keyboard, I spotted in near the floor as I was down looking for something. At first I thought it was a piece of dust caught on a cobweb. Then it moved when I blew on it. For scale there is a dime in the corner of the image.
I set the macro lens of the camera and waited for the monster to move around. The tweezers are barely 1/8″ (3 mm).
Your spotting of such a small being indicates you don’t have that dreaded “aging eyes” condition! Eyes are the second most complex organ after the brain.
They are still good. I’m hoping to keep both my brain and eyes going strong as long as possible.
I am always amazed at how these tiny creatures still have everything it takes, in terms of organs etc., to function as living beings.
I agree. And, there are smaller ones.
The only thing that could have made this better would have been finding it on a water spout.
I could go outside and look for one. In fact, along came a rain this morning. The sun has not come out yet to dry up all the rain.
